Reference & Information Literacy Special Interest Group

The purpose of the Reference & Information Literacy Special Interest Group is to provide a forum for librarians to share experiences and discuss best practices for reference services and information literacy instruction. The special interest group will meet regularly to:

  • Exchange ideas on evaluating reference services and library instruction
  • Promote areas of research about user interaction pertaining to reference and instruction
  • Serve as a professional development forum
  • Advance learning, teaching, and research with respect to information literacy in higher education

 Collection Services Special Interest Group

The purpose of the Collection Services Special Interest Group is to provide a forum for librarians and staff to share experiences and best practices related to managing library collections. The special interest group will meet regularly to:

  • Discuss current trends and issues about information technologies and workflows
  • Serve as a forum for exchanging ideas
  • Identify and recommend initiatives to improve quality and cost-effectiveness of technical services operations within an academic environment
  • Promote collaboration and research related to collection services
